      High school senior, Bilal, introduces you to Detroit  through his eyes as he struggles with the weight of being next in line to run  his family's 60 year old Taxi Stand. But after secretly submitting a college  application, and starting the art of&nbsp; ice carving in order to win a  scholarship, he must decide if he'll continue working at the Stand or carve out  his own destiny.&nbsp;The film addresses issues that many inner city youth face in regards to  peer pressure, unequal education, race, class, religion, and the notion of  &quot;selling out&quot;.  <a href="http://www.bilalsstand.com/">http://www.bilalsstand.com</a>. Free presentation, as part of MLK symposium events!</p>
      <p align="left">The film was produced as the pilot film for the  Student EFEX (Encouraging the

Seona MacReamoinn, from Trinity College, will be on campus to discuss the program. <strong></strong>Trinity  College is a renowned 400 year old university located in the cultural and physical  heart of Dublin. Trinity College is an ideal location for studying contemporary  Ireland, with the National Museum, Parliament (Dáil Éireann) and National  Gallery, as well as cafés, bars, theaters and several music venues all within  walking distance of the college. Participating students  complete an intensive course of study in Irish culture. Courses are offered by  Trinity College faculty in the following subjects: history, literature, visual  arts, drama, Gaelic culture, and contemporary critical issues. There will be  several major day trips and one week of the program will take place at Queen’s  University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Throughout the program, the coursework  is complimented by a series of cultural events and social activities such as  poetry and prose readings, theatre performances, film screenings, and  traditional music sessions.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p></td>

Seona MacReamoinn, from Trinity College, will be on campus to discuss the program. <strong></strong>Trinity  College is a renowned 400 year old university located in the cultural and physical  heart of Dublin. Trinity College is an ideal location for studying contemporary  Ireland, with the National Museum, Parliament (Dáil Éireann) and National  Gallery, as well as cafés, bars, theaters and several music venues all within  walking distance of the college. Participating students  complete an intensive course of study in Irish culture. Courses are offered by  Trinity College faculty in the following subjects: history, literature, visual  arts, drama, Gaelic culture, and contemporary critical issues. There will be  several major day trips and one week of the program will take place at Queen’s  University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Throughout the program, the coursework  is complimented by a series of cultural events and social activities such as  poetry and prose readings, theatre performances, film screenings, and  traditional music sessions.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
