Stunning views of the Sun

This is not too informative, but amateur astrophotographer Alan Friedman captured amazing photographs of the sun. He already has a large collection of outer space images, and he continues add magnificent photos.

These looks great, and I wonder how he managed to get the quality. It seems like he'd need these large telescopes to view these items and process the images through computers.

I agree that is an amazing picture! I like how you can see the sunspots on the impage very clearly, where the temperatures are cooler. It kind of looks just like a giant fluffy/fuzz ball up close, and it's interesting to think that with this giant ball of helium and hydrogen, we would not exist!
