China Specialist, joint position in IAS and either Anthropology or History, Washington University in St. Louis
The International and Area Studies Program at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a junior tenure-track position in modern China, with a joint appointment in the Anthropology or History Department. Evidence of teaching excellence and strong research potential is expected. Letters of application should be accompanied by a CV and brief statement of experience and research interest. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted.

The search committee will give priority to applications received by November 1, 2008 but will consider applications received after that date. The review of applications will continue until the position is filled. The preferred starting date for the position is the fall of 2009, at which time candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand.
