Mellon Postdoc Fellowship 2008-2010 at Dartmouth College (NH)

With the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Dartmouth College is pleased to accept applications for two postdoctoral fellowships in the humanities and humanistic social sciences for the 2008-2010 academic years. Successful applicants will be housed in particular departments or interdisciplinary programs. Fellows will be expected to pursue their own research, to teach two courses annually in their home departments or programs, and to participate in the life of those host departments or programs. At least one of the four courses should contribute something new to the Dartmouth curriculum. Fellows will not be asked to teach basic language courses.

Applicants must have received their Ph.D. degrees after January 1, 2005. Applications for fellowships beginning in 2008 are due by November 15, 2007. Application materials, letters of recommendation, and transcripts must arrive at Dartmouth before the deadline. Fellows will enjoy full use of such college resources as the library, computing center, Leslie, Rockefeller and Dickey Centers, Hood Museum of Art and Hopkins Center. The annual stipend for the 2008-10 fellow will be $50,000 plus benefits, a research allowance of $2,000, and a first-year only computer allowance of $2,500.
