NYU Fellowships
The new collaborative NYU/CNRS research center (UMI 3199 "Transitions") is offering 6 short-term fellowships in 2009-10 for doctoral candidates and recent Ph.D.s at work on projects involving history, memory, and/or historical museums and memorialization. The projects can be comparative or in any national field, and young scholars in all humanistic and social science disciplines are eligible.
The fellowship includes round-trip travel expenses to New York from North America or abroad plus a studio apartment near NYU for up to two months. Fellows will have full access to NYU libraries and will be members of the UMI's research team. Fellows will participate in a monthly research seminar involving French and American scholars and are asked submit a paper of about 20 pages by the end of the summer following the research stay at NYU. A selection of the papers will appear in a collective volume to be edited by Denis Peschanski and me.
The application should include a brief description of your work and one letter of recommendation. The deadline is September 30, 2009. Please submit applications to me by email at the address below.
