CFP Conference: Conference of the Young Slavists, Charles University, Prague, CZ

On 1 - 2 November 2012, the eighth year of the international Conference of the Young Slavists with the subheading: Slavonic world: known or unknown? is going to take place in the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague. All interested persons as senior students, graduates, alumnae, PhD students and young scholars will be again able to present the results of their scientific activities. We connect to the successfull years which took place in 2005-2011. We heartily invite the participants from your university to take part in the conferention!
The aim of this project is to increase the permeability of information of scientific activities crosswise Slavonic specialisations and different Slavonic workplaces. To attain the aim we need to set up quite a large amount of the papers and to provide good conditions for development of useful discussion.
We ask prospective participants to prepare paper in time period of 15-20 minutes. All Slavonic languages will be the languages of the conference. The reports will be divided into sections according to the topics. The sections will be conducted by the members of academia of the Charles University. Participants in the conference presenting a paper will be offered to publish their contribution in a peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
1) Apocryphal and banned literature of the Slavic lands
2) A Prognosis on dialects and the endangered languages of the Slavonic nations
3) Language taboos and euphemisms: their tendencies in development and function in Slavonic languages
4) Avoided topics in Slavonic history
Conference fee: 1500 CZK / 60 EUR (will be charged on the spot)
Accomodation: If applied in time, we also provide accomodation in Charles university students’ hostels for participants from outside Prague and from abroad (participant pays the costs).
