Eastern European Study Abroad Opportunity

With the fall of the Soviet Union, nearly twenty new countries have entered the international market and political scene. Newly emerged democracies in Eastern Europe and Asia have started integration into global institutions. From these countries, Ukraine has been among the leaders in achieving economic freedom and establishing democracy.

Study abroad students of EESA-Ukraine can learn firsthand about the process of this transition and its relation to the world affairs today. The unique focus of the program is on analyzing the relation between the past and current economical and political systems and their future influence in Ukraine, Europe and other parts of the world.

With the exception of Russian and Ukrainian language courses, EESA courses are taught in English in the fields of economics, business, political science, sociology, international relations, history and cultural studies. Therefore there is no language prerequisite to participate in the program. One unique focus of the program is on analyzing the relation between the past and current economical and political systems and their future influence in Ukraine, Europe and other parts of the world. Students learn firsthand about the process of this transition and its relation to the world affairs today. For students who are studying the Russian or Ukrainian language, EESA offers courses for all levels of proficiency, as well as intensive language training for interested students.
