Courses: New Master of Arts Degree Program in Central Asian Studies

The American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and its Central Asian Studies Institute are happy to announce the opening of a new MA program in Central Asian Studies in Fall 2013. The program will provide students with a critical understanding of past and present social, political, economic and cultural processes in Central Asia and a proficiency in a local language at a level allowing them to conduct independent research or professional work. Students enrolled in the program become part of a vibrant academic and research community and are offered the possibility, through the ongoing series of meetings, lectures, seminars and round tables, to meet key political actors and experts and to get in touch with a variety of visiting scholars.

The M.A. program is four-semesters long, but motivated students could also be given the option of completing it within two semesters. On request, and with a prior approval by their home universities, foreign students can be admitted to the program for a single semester, combined or not with summer field work, internship, or with AUCA Summer Language School (see http://www.auca.kg/en/sls/).
