Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellowship for a Bulgarian Scholar
The Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellowship will enable a junior scholar to spend six months at the IWM in Vienna to pursue her or his research project while working in residence at the Institute. The Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellow will be a member of the international and multidisciplinary scholarly community at the IWM and is invited to present her or his project at the Institute.
Projects should fall within the humanities and social sciences, and be related to Bulgaria and/or South-Eastern Europe in a broader European or international context. Preference will be given to proposals that closely match the research priorities
of the IWM. Research at the Institute is currently focused on six fields:
1. Sources of Inequality
2. Religion and Secularism
3. The Future of Democracy
4. United Europe - Divided History
5. Cultures and Institutions in Central and Eastern Europe
6. The Philosophical Work of Jan Patočka
The fellow will receive a stipend to cover all expenses related to the stay in Vienna (travel, accommodation, health insurance, incidentals). The IWM will provide the grantee with a personal office including access to Internet, in-house research and administrative facilities. In addition, the fellow will be provided free of charge with standard consumable supplies and lunch in its cafeteria. The Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellow will receive a stipend in the amount of Euro 1,500 per month. The 6-month research term must be completed between January and December 2013.
Candidates must be Bulgarian citizens, must be enrolled in a doctoral program or recently have obtained a PhD, and must not be older than 35 years.
