Study Abroad: New Master of Arts Degree Program in Central Asian Studies (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan)
The American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and its
Central Asian Studies Institute are happy to announce the opening of a new
MA program in Central Asian Studies in Fall 2013. The program will provide
students with a critical understanding of past and present social,
political, economic and cultural processes in Central Asia and a
proficiency in a local language at a level allowing them to conduct
independent research or professional work. Students enrolled in
the program become part of a vibrant academic and research community and
are offered the possibility, through the ongoing series of meetings,
lectures, seminars and round tables, to meet key political actors and
experts and to get in touch with a variety of visiting scholars.
The M.A. program is four-semesters long, but motivated students could also
be given the option of completing it within two semesters. On request, and
with a prior approval by their home universities, foreign students can be
admitted to the program for a single semester, combined or not with summer

The Association Linguists is organising the fifth edition of the
Summer School of the Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian language this year.
The school lasts for two weeks, and consists of 40 classes of grammar
and conversation. Additional activities include cooking and folklore
workshops, translation classes, as well as a visit to a museum and a
regional film screening. This year, instead of paying a visit to
Mostar, we will travel to Travnik and Jajce, as a part of a one-day

Study abroad: Summer Russian Language Program at Maxim Gorky Literary Institute in Moscow

The Russian Language Department at Maxim Gorky Literary Institute in Moscow, Russia offers a 4 week summer Russian language program for 2nd and 3rd year students of Russian.
Program dates: July 22 – August 23, 2013.
Students should arrive in Moscow on July 20 - 21.
The program consists of three modules:
Module I. Russian Language with a Focus on Communicative Strategies: 12 hours / week.
Module II. Russian language through the Cinema: 4 hours / week.
Module III. Russian Language through the Literature: 4 hours / week.
Afterclass activities will allow students to explore Russian culture with the most experienced and inspiring guides. The cultural program includes tours of Moscow and its suburbs, visits to Vladimir, Suzdal, and St. Petersburg.

The Summer Camp Program for Students and other young people (18-35 years old) is a ten-day international program held at “University in Mountains”, Bashkir State Pedagogical University named after M. Akmulla on August 5-14, 2013. The Summer Camp Program consists of 4 parts: debates (roundtable talks) on vital issues concerning present day life of young people (morning and afternoon sessions), local craft workshops (Russian and Bashkir crafts), sport and hiking activities (horse riding, sport games, tourist safari) and entertaining part (talk shows, musical and dance presentations, disco dances). “Modern Russia’s Policy and Society”
We are delighted to inform you that St. Petersburg State University
Department of Political Science is now accepting applications for the
1st summer school in contemporary Russian politics to be held in June, 2013 in St. Petersburg.
This educational program welcomes mainly professors, undergraduate and graduate students in Political Science,International Relations,
International Law, Eurasian Studies, East European Studies and Global Issues. We also hope to foster academic exchange and create a circle of engaged specialists from Russia and other countries.

Summer School program focuses on contemporary Russian political development as it is performed in the North-Western Russian Region which includes St. Petersburg and other Russian territories to the north such as Archangel, Murmansk and Petrozavodsk.
