Root Cavities
For prevention of root cavities, the patient should use fluoride dentifrice, along daily with a fluoride rinse or fluoride brush-on gel. Patients with multiple sensitive teeth should use a cutom-tray application.

Cheryl- I have already come across several patients with exposed root surfaces and these areas were generally very sensitive. I will definitely be recommending these tips for OHI to help my patients prevent root caries and help with sensitivity in future. -Maria

Cheryl, this is very good to know, now if I ever come across a patient with root cavities, I have suggestions for the patient to prevent further ones.
