Install plugins for Gedit

I was a bit frustrated that I even had to go think to do this but now that I know, I should become more efficient in Gedit. As I will probably never move to Vim or Emacs, this is a good thing.

Directions here.

$ cd /usr/lib/gedit-2/plugins/

Download and untar your plugins. Place the files (not the directory) into the above folder.

Gedit Plugin Installer - save seconds while installing new plugins. Ironically, no directions on how to install the installer are given.

A how to that really wasn't that useful to me.

I had the same issue with my Linux. It is real challenge when it comes to installing Gedit plugins. At least it is good that smart highlight plugin could be downloaded directly from Google code.

I have experienced great problems in installing Gedit plugins. I'm happy that I found this blog. It helped me a lot and the direction of 'how to' also helped me. Thanks!
