I struggle with the question of how long is too long, how short is too short? A colleague told me he tries to keep his blogs to 300 words but in reading them, I just didn't feel like I got enough from them for the effort.
For myself, I can't do it. Best I've done is 450 words. That's only about 2.5 minutes of reading. Are we saying that, as professionals, we can't spend less than 3 minutes reading? If so, maybe we need to reassess our jobs...not our blogs! : )
Onward and upward toward blogging perfection!

I agree about blogs. Where is enough content enough? Thanks for the 450 words comment - I'll have to see what brings the most value for the effort for the writer and reader.
I'm curious to continue this current experiment of a Twog hybrid for just January 2009. I envision it could the best of twitter (quick, VERY current, referrals to current postings on blogs/websites) blended with resource (one of the things I REALLY like to do--gather up and refer good sources) and leaving the writing to the blogging pros, or close to it. Of course, that may be a matter of taste as well. I hope to find out.
I have precedent with s Twog-like format with an exec coach who's emails I receive regularly. I receive them just often enough to prevent annoyance and much email clutter, with a hint of why I should look at his blog. I'm curious if a Twog hybrid style would appeal to the UM audience for which this is aimed, particularly as I plan to set up a prettier, visually oriented, RSS feed enhanced site over the holidays. You can let me know what you think once I do Twog + visuals + a more stable version. For me, the 3-30 minutes of reading has to do with easier access to choice, followed by clear value, increased support/oomph for the reader, and community value for both the writer and reader.
