How are job failures that are a result of a server being unavailable handled?
We have jobs that run hourly and will fail hourly if a server is down for an extended period of time. Will we have to create a relationship to link all of those back to the original?

Yes, you may run into several incidents that are a result of another incident. The key to remember is that these are not children of a parent incident, but simply related to the original incident. As an example, if a server goes down it may spawn additional incidents related to the mid-tier or scheduled jobs. These are all considered “Related To” relationship types. If Operations generates a incident record that a server is down the MAIS Help Desk may receive multiple calls indicating that a service, which is found on the down server, is not available. In this example, the incident records created by the MAIS Help Desk would be related to the “server down” record generated by Operations as a “Duplicate Of”. This establishes a parent child relationship and is managed by MAISAid differently than a “Related To” relationship.
