Population Council - Call for Proposals
The Population Council is pleased to announce its first call for proposals to conduct research on gender and work in the Middle East and North Africa region. This research competition comes as a second step in a major Council initiative aiming to build research capacity in this area with support from the International Development Research Center (IDRC). The initiative involves providing training workshops, mentorship and research awards, and dissemination activities. The objective of the initiative is to foster methodologically sound research in the area of gender and work in the region. Select research studies supported as part of this initiative will be published in an edited volume on gender and work.
The awards will range in size between $4,000 and $8,000. Award size will be primarily determined by the duration of the proposed research project and the type of proposed activities. Awards duration should not exceed one year. The deadline for the submission of proposals is October 30, 2008.
