Aga Khan University –Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC)
From 2006, The Aga Khan University, Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC) has been offering an MA in Muslim Cultures.
Our Masters is an intensive, interdisciplinary two-year programme which aims to bring together various intellectual and cultural perspectives in a dynamic learning environment. The distinctiveness of our approach lies in our emphasis on the use of concepts from the Social Sciences and Humanities to investigate and understand the diversity and complexity of Muslim cultures. Implied in this approach is the goal of studying Muslim cultures as an integral part of world history. Our courses cover areas such as art, architecture, languages, literature, development studies, law, ethics, and the history of ideas.
We aim to enrol students of the highest calibre and offer support through our financial assistance programme. AKU-ISMC is a non-denominational institution and welcomes students from diverse backgrounds.
