Intelligence Analyst Job for South Caucasus or Eastern Black Sea regional specialist
The 4th Psychological Operations Group is seeking highly qualified applicants for a two-year Intelligence Analyst position (renewable for up to 3 years) focused on the eastern Black Sea/ South Caucasus region. Successful candidate will work with other civilian specialists conducting research and writing 20-40 page studies, will work closely with U.S. and possibly foreign military personnel, and must be willing to travel within the United States and abroad in order to conduct research and support military operations. A strong background in study and research of the history, politics, and culture of the region of specialization is required. Prior residence in the region of specialization is extremely desirable.
This is a full-time, 2-year temporary civil service position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) at the equivalent of GG-11/12/13 level. The current annual salary range, with locality pay, is $59,158 to $109,611. The positions may be extended for an additional 3 years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Required qualifications:
All qualification requirements stated in the official Vacancy Announcement apply. These include:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and keep a SECRET level security clearance.
- Ph.D. or equivalent research and writing experience in a social science discipline (including history) with a focus on the South Caucasus or eastern Black Sea region, or other qualifying experience as stated in the official Vacancy Announcement.
- Strong reading and listening comprehension in one of the major regional languages: Armenian, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Kurdish, or Turkish. Russian may be accepted IF the candidate has qualifying research experience focused on the South Caucasus. Candidate must attain an acceptable score on the Defense Language Proficiency Test.
- The ability to conduct solid research and write clearly in English.
