Tenure-Track Position Availability: History Department at Wayne State University
The Department of History at Wayne State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the history of the modern Middle East at the Assistant Professor level, to begin August 2011. Field of specialization is open. Teaching responsibilities include advanced and graduate courses in the history of the modern Middle East, and survey courses in Middle Eastern and World history. A strong commitment to research and publication and demonstrated teaching excellence are essential. The search committee will begin to consider applications on January 21, 2011. All applicants must create an online application at http://jobs.wayne.edu and upload their letter of application, curriculum vita, a writing sample (one dissertation chapter or equivalent), and a statement of teaching philosophy. Additionally applicants must submit a transcript which shows highest degree (or, in the case of a current doctoral student, a current transcript), a syllabus for the survey course, and three letters of recommendation to: Middle East History Search, Marc Kruman, Chair, Department of History, Wayne State University, 3094 FAB, 656 W. Kirby, Detroit, MI 48202.
