Teachers Educating Across Cultures in Harmony (TEACH)
Teachers Educating Across Cultures in Harmony (TEACH)
TEACH is a program aimed at cross cultural exchanges and increased knowledge between educators in the United States and the Arab World. In March 2011, the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce will lead a delegation of selected instructors to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the purpose of raising awareness, understanding, and cooperation between educators in the United States and the Middle East. This exchange will provide participating instructors with practical experience that can be brought to the classroom and allow the transfer of cultural understanding into educational work.
Through the TEACH Fellowship program, educators will explore the education system of Bahrain, the challenges that Bahraini educators face, and women’s role in education. They will receive commercial, political, and cultural briefings by the decision makers and thought leaders of Bahrain. Educators will visit with the U.S. Embassy, the Economic Development Board, and members of Parliament. Educators will also participate in excursions to Bahrain’s culturally and historically significant sites, such as the Bahrain Ancient Fort, Al-Areen Wildlife Sanctuary, containing endangered species such as Arabian Onyx, Barbar Temple, and A'ali Burial Mounds - largest prehistoric cemetery in the world. Participation fee for the trip is $500 which includes:
* International Roundtrip Airfare
* Site Visits
* Airfare between the countries
* Most Meals
* Hotel Accommodations
* Networking Receptions
* Ground Transportation
* Visas Program
