Lecturer in Persian Literature and Culture /Harvard University
The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations seeks applications for a lecturer in Persian literature and culture for the academic year 2011-2012. The lecturer will teach four courses per year, at least three of which will involve reading Persian texts from a variety of literary genres at the intermediate and advanced level. An additional course, in English, introducing contemporary Iranian society through literature in translation would also be welcomed.
Candidates should have professional expertise in teaching language and content-based courses at advanced levels, as well as a strong academic grounding in both classical and modern Persian literature and culture. A strong doctoral record and native or near-native proficiency in Persian and English are required.
A dossier including a letter of application, a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of reference, should be sent electronically no later than June 20, 2011 to:
