Checkouts to CVC5

Dear iPod Squad volunteers,

We have had a great first week with the iPods with several checked out each day. We did have one glitch which is that one of the iPods was lost. This happened on CVC5 - the patient gave the iPod to a tech on the floor and the tech did not put it in the drop box.

This incident demonstrates how important it is to explain to users exactly how to return the iPods.

On CVC5 please make sure that you review the two options to return the iPods which are described in detail on the back side of the checkout sheet. It is not enough to show them the instructions: please review with them verbally the two options:
1. return the iPod to the volunteer who will visit the floor the next day
2. drop off the iPod in the drop-box located in the CVC5 lobby.

Next use this sentence: we ask that you do not ask a staff member to return the iPod. The safest way to avoid problems is to drop if off in the drop box.
