Checkouts to patients on 2A
We have worked out a plan with the staff on 2A to check out iPods to patients who stay there overnight for observation. 2A is where patients undergo angioplasty procedures. Sometimes the clinicians decide to keep these patients overnight for observation. In almost all cases, patients will be discharged home the next day sometime around noon.
We will let these patients check out an iPod to use while they are there. Since decisions about staying are usually made in the afternoon hours we may get a call from 2A patients in the afternoon asking for an iPod to keep overnight.
Even though these are inpatients, we will still require a driver's license from patients on 2A.
When they call, please ask if a family member can come down with their driver's license to check out the iPod. If a family member/ caregiver is not available, we will bring it upstairs.
At checkout please explain to the user's that they need to come by the Wellness Resoruce Center before they leave to return the iPod and get their driver's license back.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
