This is an outstanding collection for fans and those who might want to know more about the Green Hornet. The 1940s serials and movies are great but nothing can compare to the 1960s TV show with Bruce Lee. Mr Lee was truely amazing. He played this part as a serious character. There is a short interview with him where he demonstrates some of his moves. ~Mike

Iron sky

At the end of World War II the Nazis set up a secret project on the Dark Side of the Moon where over the next seven decades they create a space fortress and flying saucers.

I don't think I would ever say a film about Nazis could be wonderful unless it is a production by Mel Brooks. For shock value and almost decent production value this film is wonderful. It is over the top in American pop culture. Everyone in this film fits a stereotype. However "Nazis on the Moon?". If you have a taste for the absurd and don't mind some insults thrown at you from the screen than what more can be said, enjoy the movie. ~Mike

Carnage

Two pairs of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. However, the evening becomes quite chaotic as the parents become increasingly childish.
Based on the play, Le dieu de carnage by Yasmina Reza.
Starring Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, John C. Reilly.

This is a very good adaptation of the play. Every parent can relate to this topic. The all-star cast pulls it off masterfully. ~Mike

The Gamers

A parody of fantasy films and the adventure gaming community, The Gamers: Dorkness Rising is a hilarious romp through the world of sword and sorcery -- in this case, a world of exploding peasants, giant house cats, and undead roast turkeys.

I approached this film with the "oh no" this might be another Scott Pilgrim movie. I didn't have high expectations. Within about 15 minutes I found myself really enjoying this movie. It's fun, funny and a parody of a gamers lifestyle. It's made by gamers with a sense of humor and not just for gamers. ~Mike

Get a Life

"Get a life" features the surreal and happily delusional character of Chris Peterson. As a 30-year old "professional paperboy", he lives with his perennially pajama-clad parents and involving himself in various bizarre exploits while continually ignoring life's realities.
disc 1. season one. Terrror on the Hell Loop 2000 ; The prettiest week of my life ; Dadicus ; A family affair ; Pile of death ; Paperboy 2000 -- disc 2. season one. Driver's license ; The sitting ; Bored straight ; Zoo animals on wheels ; Roots ; The counterfeit watch story ; Chris vs. Donald -- disc 3. season one. Chris wins a celebrity ; Houseboy 2000 ; Married ; Camping 2000 ; The construction worker show ; The big city ; Neptune 2000 -- disc 4. seasons one & two. The one where Chris and Larry switch lives ; Psychic 2000 ; Chris moves out ; Larry on the loose ; Meat Locker 2000 ; Health Inspector 2000 ; Chris gets his tonsils out -- disc 5. season two. Prisoner of love ; Chris becomes a male escort ; Girlfriend 2000 ; Chris' brain starts working ; Bad fish ; SPEWEY and me --disc 6. season two. 1977-2000 ; Clip show.

Chris Elliot is the master of the creepy (in a weird neighbor or strange family member sort of way), awkward and uncomfortable comedy. He could be considered to be the predecessor to comedians like Will Ferrell and Kevin Smith. The humor is uncomfortable and in the finest Chris Elliot vein everyone hates him and he is totally oblivious to it.

Car 54 where are you?

The series follows the misadventures of NYPD officers Gunther Toody and Francis Muldoon in the fictional 53rd precinct in the Bronx, assigned to Patrol Car 54.Toody was short, stocky, nosy, not very bright, and lived with his loud, domineering wife Lucille. Muldoon, a shy bachelor who lived with his mother, was very tall, quiet, and more intelligent.
Starring Joe E. Ross, Fred Gwynne. Beatrice Pons, Al Lewis, Charlotte Rae, Paul Reed, Hank Garrett.

This was one of the standards of situation comedy during the early 1960s on television. All of the actors are familiar faces from many film and television productions. The humor is very well executed.

Fear of a Black Hat (NWH)

A filmmaker infiltrates rap band NWH in this mock-documentary comedy.

This film is a lot of fun, however there is suggested violence, drug use, a little nudity and profanity (okay a lot of profanity). The concept is a "homage" to Rob Reiner's gem This is Spinal Tap. Everyone in this film is a stereotype, representing the worst or at least the less than good of their particular group. It is very humorous and made with a sense of fun. ~Mike

Patriot Guard Riders

Documents the work of the Patriot Guard Riders, a 200,000-member motorcycle group whose members act as honor guards at funerals for American soldiers killed in action and shield the families of the fallen from protests staged by the hate group known as the Westboro Baptist Church.

One group full of contempt for its fellow citizens and country, another group trying to honor and respect the peace of families whose loved ones were killed in battle and a government that doesn't know how to respond. Westboro still has contempt, Patriot Guard still rides and the Government passed a no protest law within a certain distance of the funerals. It's up to you to decide how you feel about each side of the issue. This is an American tragedy. ~Mike

There's Always Tomorrow

A successful toy manufacturer is highly rated at the factory but is ignored and bypassed at home by his wife and children. He sparks a relationship with an old flame but is soon found out by his son.

Special features: "Days with Sirk", a 61-minute documentary from 2008 featuring rare 1982 footage with Sirk ; original theatrical trailer ; original 1956 dialogue and continuity script (as an on-disc pdf) ; 40-p. booklet featuring an essay by Andrew Klevan, excerpts from a 1977 interview with Sirk, and rare production stills.

This film is perfect in its technical aspects; cinematography, script, pacing and editing. The outstanding quality of Sirk and the production crew take us to the time and family and do not release us until the credits roll. Sirk is the master of the melo-drama.
The story is a slap in the face of the spoiled youth of and wandering desires of men in America. As the drama unfolds our victims fall prey to situations they mostly developed in their minds, it takes Barbara Stanwyck's Norma Vale a strong independent woman to restore the family.
This film is as pertinent today as it was in 1956.

Schizopolis

Fletcher Munson, a corporate drone and speechwriter for a New Age guru, discovers he has a doppelganger in the crazed dentist Dr. Jeffrey Korchek. A deranged comedy of confused identity, doublespeack and intrigue. Starring director Steven Soderbergh.
