Cleaning and Charging iPods
This entry is for both iPod and Staff Volunteers.
The Sight and Sound Program has really taken off! The number of iPods being checked out by both Out- and In-Patients continues to increase; I am sure this is due in no small part to all your efforts. Thank you!
With this increase in checkouts, it is very important that all the steps be followed when cleaning and charging iPods. Recently, I noticed a number of iPods that did not have the earbud covers in place; instead, they were laying inside the bag with the iPod.
Please make sure that the earbud covers are properly in place when the iPod is placed in the CLEAN drawer for charging. Our visitors do not always have time to wait while the covers are put in place; in addition, they should not be put in a position to have to put the covers on themselves!
Also, when placing the iPod in the plastic bags, please ensure that the charging end of the iPod is located near the opening and that the inventory loop is completely inside the bag. The iPod CLEAN Drawer is not very large and with as many as six iPods being charged at a time, these few extra steps will help keep the iPods from being tangled and improperly charged.
Again, thank you for all your help. --Lori
