Flu information

Hello volunteers,
Lately we have been getting many questions about the flu. The gov't has put up a site flu.gov with answers to many quations such as what to do if you get flu-like symptoms, guidelines for people with other health conditions, questions and answers from flu experts and more. The site also has a self-assessment tool to help individuals (18 and over) make decisions about seeking medical care if they experience cold and flu symptoms. I thought this may be helpful.

Surveys

Hello iPod Squad Volunteers:

Welcome to new volunteers and welcome back to all returning volunteers!

The number of iPods being checked out continues to increase, due in no small part to your weekly volunteer efforts. Thank you for your hard work! With the increase in iPod checkouts we hoped to see an increase in our evaluation response; unfortunately, this has not occurred.

Perhaps when you checkout an iPod to a "repeat" customer you can ask them what they enjoyed about the iPod and then encourage them to complete the evalation. You can also let them know that their comments are important to us and to the Sight and Sound Program Donor.

Likewise, you can let them know that the evaluations are the best place to add their ideas about what they would like to see included on the iPod contents. Is there a particular genre of music missing or have they learned of a new application or game that might interest a variety of users? If so, the evaluation form is a great place to express their suggestions.

Because the return rate of In-Patient evaluations is particularly low, please encourage these patrons to complete the survey. Let them know that they any problems or requests are best addressed through they evuation form. Likewise, you can let patons know that the iPods are periodically updated and new items are added; therefore, it is important that we get feedback from the users so that we can provide the best service possible.
