Laptop Issues Resolved!

This entry should be read by both Tech Squad and PERC Staff Volunteers.

Hello Volunteers:

I am extremely happy to report that the issues with the laptops have been resolved. The laptops no longer display the verbiage regarding counterfeit software. In addition, the laptops no longer shut down after 60 to 90 minutes of use! The laptops must still be rebuilt after each patient's use and we were given two new flashdrive devices for this purpose.

The rebuild process requires one additional step. You will notice that there is a PINK cable that extends from a small Netgear box (this box is connected to the hard drive). This PINK cable should be plugged into the laptop and it fits into a telephone type slot located next to where the flashdrive is inserted.

Prior to turning on the computer and tapping F12, you now need to make sure that both the Flashdrive and the PINK cable are connected to the laptop.

Please let PERC visitors know about the laptop program. Also, if you recognize any returning laptop customers, please inform them that the "shut-down" issue has been resolved.
