7-FAST document delivery now accepts credit cards online

7-FAST now accepts credit cards online. The steps for ordering are fast and easy and can be found on the 7-FAST website at http://www.lib.umich.edu/7fast/.

7-FAST is a campus-wide document delivery service that retrieves requested materials from all of the University Library's Ann Arbor campus locations. Copies are digitized and delivered to patrons through a secured website, while book loans are hand-delivered to Departmental offices. This service is provided to all UM faculty, staff and students. Fees for this service are $3.75 per book loaned or article provided. Rush service is available for an additional $10.00.

Public Health Preparedness Database

RAND researchers have developed a Public Health Preparedness Database. This searchable database can be used to find examples of evaluated preparedness exercises. The web site also features reports, tools, and resources to help state and local public health officials prepare for public health emergencies, including bioterrorism.

New Resource: Safari Tech Books Online

The University of Michigan University Library is pleased to announce the availability on all three U-M campuses of Safari Tech Books Online, a fully-searchable collection of full text books about computer software and programming, from the beginner to the advanced programmer level.

From "The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Computer Basics" to "Zope 3 Developer's Handbook", Safari titles cover details on programming languages, operating systems, software applications, "hacks", and much more. Searchable full text of recent technical books from O'Reilly & Associates and The Pearson Technology Group (including Addison-Wesley, Alpha, Financial Times Prentice Hall, Cisco Press, New Riders, Peachpit Press, Prentice Hall PTR, Que, Sams) and others. Many titles covering both Windows and Mac versions of software are included, along with titles about UNIX and Linux and their applications.
