Irene and William Gambrill Fellowship - Due December 1, 2009

I. Purpose and Eligibility
This note announces an award available to new and continuing students in the Joint Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program. It is being made available under the Irene and William Gambrill Fellowship fund and carries a value of $1,500. To be eligible for the award, a student must be in good standing and his or her research must focus on the study of integrating practice, research, and ethical issues.

Social Work Library Updates

Update on Social Work Library Closing
You may have noticed fewer books on the Social Work Library shelves. Books are being moved to various locations, primarily Hatcher Graduate Library and Public Health. Consult Mirlyn, the library catalog for the latest location. You can still have items delivered to this library from other locations until the end of this term. To do this, use the “get this” button, to the right of the call number of the book. You will be able to select any library listed as a delivery location and pick up the book at the circulation desk at the library of your choice.

If you can’t find a book or journal on the library shelves please ask at the desk and library staff will help you find what you need.

The Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program has an opening for a Research Associate to perform project research tasks for an emergency medicine physician working on various health services research projects. The primary project for the associate is a community-based qualitative research project involving both semi-structured interviews and focus groups of Muslim Americans aimed at understanding healthcare values and cultural barriers and ethical dilemmas in the clinical arena.

LHSP Graduate Internship

We are offering an internship of eight to twelve hours per week, focusing on but not limited to working with student leaders, multi-cultural programs, and student recruitment in the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program. This internship would be offered for the academic year with flexibility in start and end dates. Charlotte Whitney would serve as the primary supervisor. Faculty director Carol Tell would also provide project direction.
