Field Application and Interview Assistance for Incoming Students

If you are an incoming student, the School of Social Work highly recommends that you contact the School of Social Work Career Services staff to help you prepare for your field placement. Please read on for further important details.

Welcome to the University of Michigan School of Social Work! We are excited and proud to have you as our incoming class.

Career Services at the School of Social Work offers significant assistance to current students and alum. Entering into graduate school is truly the beginning of your professional career and development in social work, with your field application and interviews guiding your entrance into the field.

To help you best position yourself for the field placement(s) you are applying for, we recommend that you contact one of our Career Services staff. We are available to review resumes and practice interviews, in-person, on the phone, or through email. Our Career Center, located in Rm 1696 of the School of Social Work Building (SSWB) also has useful career-related materials and handouts.

Our Summer Hours are:

Monday-Thursday- 8:00-4:00
Friday-8:00-12:00
Sunday-By Appt. Only
*Walk-in hours are on the 1st Monday and 2nd Wednesday of the month.
