For Psych SW Students: Upcoming Awards Deadline: September 15, 2009

Please consider applying for the following awards.
1. Rackham International Students Fellowship—This award is specifically for students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. The award amount is $7500. You must be nominated by your Area Chair in order to be considered for this award. See the following website for more information: https://www.lsa.umich.edu/psych/grad/awards/info/award.asp?id=87
2. James McKeen Cattell Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in Psychology—This is a national award offered by the New York Academy of Sciences. The award is limited to students who have either attained their degrees or defended their dissertations between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009. For more information, see: https://www.lsa.umich.edu/psych/grad/awards/info/award.asp?id=79 The Graduate Committee will review applications and forward one to the Academy for further consideration.
3. The Patricia Gurin Award is for students who conduct research in any of the following areas: identity, diversity, self-efficacy and control. The award amount is $500. Please refer to the following website for application procedures: https://www.lsa.umich.edu/psych/grad/awards/info/award.asp?id=46 This award is open to all students, and you do not need to be nominated by your Area in order to be considered.
All application materials are due in the SAA Office by Tuesday, September 15.
