•Applications for FALL 2009, can be found here:
http://www.lsa.umich.edu/soc/graduate/gsi.asp and are due AUGUST 27,
2009. Submit the application to: Jeannie Loughry, Graduate Coordinator, at donajean@umich.edu.

•Duties Include: Heading discussion sessions; Grading assignments; Office hours

•Selection Criteria will include: Relevant academic preparation for
teaching the course material; extent of prior instructional experience; Student evaluations; Relevance to graduate training.

•Minimum Qualifications Include: Graduate student in good standing in the college; Successful completion or concurrent enrollment in Sociology 993, Graduate Student Instructor Training.

•Desired Qualifications: Previous experience as a GSI, with favorable
student evaluations; Previous experience teaching this or a related course in Sociology

•Selection decisions will be completed on or about: August 28, 2009. Applicants will be contacted by e-mail concerning their status.

• Specific course or section preference should be made in writing at the time of application

• Preferential consideration will be given to applicants for whom a GSI position has been promised as part of their financial aid package.
