Job Opportunity - Part-Time Community Organizer

Karen Bergbower & Associates (KBA) is a prevention, assessment, counseling, and consulting group based in Brighton, MI. KBA is seeking an energetic part-time Community Organizer to mobilize the Ypsilanti community, including its residents and organizations, to reduce adult binge drinking. The primary objective of the organizer will be to work with existing structures to establish a self-sufficient coalition using environmental prevention strategies.

Job Responsibilities
The organizer's primary responsibilities will include:
- Gain awareness of the target community
- Increase community awareness of alcohol related problems
- Identify, recruit and train key community members
- Assist in the estabilshment of a community coalition
- Prepare and provide timely and accurate reports
- Additional duties will be outlined by the WARP Project Coordinator and the Program Director

Qualifications
- Must be a current graduate majoring in Community Organizing
- Strong community outreach, organizing and engagement skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Solid computer skills
