Student Mental Health Advocate Award

Nominate a student to receive this award that recognizes outstanding student leadership in the area of campus mental health.
In 300 words or less, give the student's name, major, college/university, and describe how this student has helped to create a healthier and more inclusive campus community by:
• Raising awareness of mental health issues on campus through education and outreach, and/or
• Advocating for mental health services on campus for diverse student populations, and/or
• Helping to reduce the stigma of depressive illnesses.
The U-M Depression on College Campuses Conference Planning Committee will review the nominations, select a recipient, and pay travel expenses for the recipient to attend the 2010 Depression on College Campuses Conference, March 10-11, 2010, where the award will be presented. In addition, the person who nominates the selected student will receive free registration and hotel accommodations for the conference.
Deadline for nominations: February 5, 2010.
Award recipient will be notified by February 12, 2010.
