Student Conversation Association - Summer Positions Available

The Student Conservation Association is seeking Summer Crew Leaders for Summer 2010. Co-lead, supervise, and mentor a team of ten high school students ages 15-18 for six weeks (Mon-Fri, 8 hrs a day) completing an assortments of hands-on conservation and restoration projects with community partners; also plan and lead weekly educational field trips and reflection sessions. Program Dates: July 6 - August 13
Mandatory Training Dates: June 3 - 10 (alternate dates available)
Compensation: $3,150 for a 6-week program

Qualifications for Employment:
- 21 years or older
- Valid Driver's License for 3+ years and clean driving record
- Current Basic First Aid and Adult CPR certifications or ability to obtain them
- Experience with environmental justice in Detroit
- Competent in working outdoors
- Experience working with urban youth
- Ability to maintain safe, productive and enjoyable work environment
- Strong interest in working with and mentoring youth
- Knowledge of and strong community connections in Detroit are helpful
- Multi-lingual a plus
