Genesee County Family Court: Court Improvement Program, Parent Representation Pilot Project
As part of the 2012 Michigan Court Improvement Program, the State Court Administrative Office Child Welfare Services Division (CWS) will fund a Parent Representation Project in Genesee County to improve parents’ legal representation and access to services in child abuse/neglect proceedings. A crucial component of the program is to provide a social worker to partner with the parent attorney. Together, the team can collectively advocate for the appropriate supports and services for parents involved in Genesee Family Court abuse and neglect cases.
Type of Employment
This position is for a 1099 contractor. No employment benefits are offered. There is a one-year commitment, however; it is anticipated the pilot will last a total of three years. Each year the contract may be extended, subject to annual grant renewals and the social worker’s satisfactory performance.

The Team Member/CSTS coordinator will work directly with Community Mental Health consumers living in Avalon Housing. Position is responsible for completing clinical assessments, developing and maintaining Individual Plan of Service (IPOS), coordinating and monitoring client services, directly assisting consumers in achieving desired outcomes, and documenting client progress.
