Job Opening: Research Assistant for Ready to Read

The Ready to Read department is looking for a Research Assistant to aid in the current study being conducted on reading development in young children. The position includes a variety of tasks that include interacting with parents and children as well as operating state-of-the-art technology. Additional activities may include coding data, data entry, calling parents to schedule appointments and making reminder phone calls for scheduled visits.
The position is about 10-20 hours a week depending on when the visits are scheduled each week.

Responsibilities:
*Maintain confidentiality of study and participant information
*Interacting with parents and young children during hour long visits to the School of Education
*Conducting interviews of parents
*Running experiments using computers and other technology
*Performing certain tasks with young children in one-on-one interactions
*Conducting phone calls to parents for scheduling visits
*Data collection, coding and entry (when needed)
Required Qualifications:
*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
*Computer experience
*Excellent written and oral communication skills
*Previous work with young children (desired)
*Flexibility in weekly schedule to accommodate various lab visit schedules
