Applications are now being accepted for the American Case Management Association's (ACMA) 2012 Social Work Case Management Fellowship program. The Fellowship is governed and bestowed by ACMA in partnership with UCLA Health System in Los Angeles, CA.
The Fellowship affords an MSW graduate with experiences and training in case management that will enhance their job marketability and career path in Hospital Case Management.
This is the third year for the Fellowship program, which was created in 2010 to further promote social work in the hospital/clinical setting and raise awareness regarding the social worker's key role in Hospital Case Management.

The Fellowship is a nine-month, hospital-based program that includes Hospital Case Management training, project work, multi-hospital exposure, research, professional membership in ACMA, a national conference speaking opportunity, and a case management model comparative study. The 2012 Fellowship will be conducted at UCLA Health System under the direction of Marcia Colone, PhD, LCSW, ACM, System Director of Care Coordination.
Who Should Apply?
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Fellowship:
- Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited CSWE school of social work
- Completion of a minimum 60 credit/2 year program
- Hospital / health system experience of:
- Last year's field practicum or second-year placement must
have been in a hospital / health system, or
- Candidate must have at least one year of prior
hospital/health system experience (post-Masters)
The Fellow will receive a stipend of $50,000 as their compensation during the fellowship. In addition, travel expenses related to site visits and conference attendance required by the Fellowship will be paid by ACMA.
One individual will be selected for the 2012 Fellowship through an application process. The application deadline is March 30, 2012 at 5:00 PM CT, and the Fellowship recipient will be announced after May 1, 2012. There is no fee to apply.
