How to complete a transfer application to Taubman College
To apply to the undergraduate architecture program at Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning an applicant must complete an online application.
You will first need to log in or create a new account. You will then answer preliminary questions.
Question 1. What type of student are you applying as?
Select cross-campus transfer if you attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Select new transfer if you are applying
from another institution, including University of Michigan, Dearborn
and University of Michigan, Flint.
Question 2. What School or College are you applying for?
Select A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning
Please answer the remaining preliminary questions. Save and continue.

If you are a cross-campus transfer, please make sure that your current address, in Wolverineaccess, is the address that you want your admission decision mailed. The online application data will not update your current address in Wolverineaccess.

If you are a cross-campus transfer, please enter the University of Michigan as an institution that you have attended.
Page 3: Please complete all fields.
Page 4: Please complete all fields listed under “Plan of Study”. All native English speaking applicants can skip the fields under the “Testing” section on page 4. If English is not the applicants native language, please complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) section. Please also have your official TOEFL score sent to the University of Michigan, institution code 1839.
Page 5: New Transfers can complete the section, “Coursework”, and can elect to answer the question “Is there anything in your academic record that you should explain?” New transfers do not have to answer any other questions on this page, even though the fields indicate they are required.
Page 5: Cross-campus transfers should answer the two conduct questions.
Page 6: New transfers should complete all fields, if applicable.
Page 6: Cross-campus transfers should complete page 6.
Page 7: New transfers should complete all fields with the course numbers your university uses.
Page 7: Cross campus transfers should complete the short answer question 750-1000 words. Describe the path that led to your decision to study architecture at the University of Michigan. What specific experiences, events, writings, buildings, or people have been influential?
Page 8: New transfers must complete all three essay questions (page 8, 9, and 10).
Page 9/11: Please provide additional information that did not fit on the previous application pages.

Cross-campus transfers should print one Architecture Recommendation Form, complete the top portion, and have a non-architecture professor (non-architecture GSI)complete the recommendation form and attach a letter on letterhead and have it sent to:
