Registering for Classes
Attention Undergraduate Cross Campus Applicants:
Many of you are patiently awaiting your admission decision from the Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning. We are expecting to have decisions to you soon, but in the meantime, you should still be selecting, backpacking, and registering for courses in your home program as if you were continuing with your field of study (as a backup plan). If you are admitted to the undergraduate architecture program, you can then drop the courses you're registered for under your LSA registration and replace them with the architecture core courses under your architecture registration appointment. And if it so happens that you are not admitted to the program, then you will at least have your fall classes scheduled and will not be scrambling at the last minute to find courses. It is always better to plan, in advance, for the possibility that you might not gain admission, because you can always drop the courses later if you are admitted to the program.
If admitted, you will be given a detailed registration information package in the mail over the summer with instructions. But it is important to note that the architecture courses are reserved for the incoming class, so you do not have to worry about them filling up - the seats are all saved for newly admitted students. However, you should be considering the elective that you will be taking next fall. If you plan to take a course outside the architecture school for your elective, then you should register for it now. You can view the sample schedule on our website to help you select an elective that will not conflict with your core courses.
If the admission decisions are announced earlier than your spring registration appointment (for fall classes), DO NOT register for any architecture courses. Only register for an elective course (in LSA or another school or college) if you will be taking one in the fall. Wait for the detailed registration information package that will be mailed to you over the summer before registering for your architecture courses.
