How Do You Get Around?

I want to know how to get around Ann Arbor and to nearby cities. IE Downtown Detroit!

Try ZipCar!

University of Michigan students, faculty, and staff can join Zipcar for only $35/year, and there is no application fee. You also get $35 in free driving to use your first month. Hourly rates from $8 and daily rates from $66 include gas, insurance and 180 free miles.

Membership gets you 24/7 access to Zipcars parked right on campus! There are many types of cars to choose from depending on what you need at any given time (including fuel-efficient hybrids and spacious SUVs). Simply reserve online, let yourself in with your Zipcard and drive.

Around Ann Arbor, try the AATA buses. Swipe your Mcard in the reader at the front and you ride for free. You can get schedules at aata.org and google maps includes the system when you ask for directions within Ann Arbor. You can also check if the bus is on time at aata.org. If you are going between central and north campus, there are free campus buses, which run until 2-3 am. Try www.pts.umich.edu for schedules and a real-time display of where the buses are.
