I am an ARM student and SAA officer. I agree that ALA and SAA have much in common and there is a great deal of overlap between the fields. After last night's meeting I was inspired to join ALA and I'm glad I did. I look forward to many joint events and at least working together in spirit. I might be interested in the survey of courses at other schools, at least an informal one. --Anne Thomason

Hello I'm Timothy, a second-year information policy student. It's good to see ALA@SI developing a great schedule of events. There's also projects to get involved with!--begin semi-selfish plug here:
Over the summer Creative Commons started the LiveContent project--initially a LiveCD that boots open source applications and provides samples of open creative content like photos, videos, and music. Version 2.0 of LiveContent is being developed for library settings, further exploring how free, open source applications and free, open content can benefit patrons. CC is working with Fedora to build a LiveDVD. There's definitely more information on the LiveContent page--the project could use great input from ALA members at Michigan and elsewhere.
