URL: http://olrs.ohio.gov/ASP/olrs_FSCAutismScholarship.asp
DESCRIPTION: Comprehensive information on the Autism Scholarship Program, a program from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) (through House Bill (HB) 95). The program "provides parents of a qualified child identified as having autism with the choice of sending their child to a special education program, other than the one operated by the resident school district, to receive the services outlined in the child's individualized education program (IEP). The program allows ODE to pay a scholarship to a parent of each qualified child with autism. The scholarship amount is the lesser of the fee charged by the provider or $15,000 per fiscal year. Per HB 95, a child who is awarded a scholarship will be counted in the resident district's student funding count. ODE is then required to deduct the scholarship amount from the resident district's state funding." These resources include rules, guidelines, and application forms.
