Please note that Dentists are increasingly being mandated to make available AED (defibrillator) units for their offices. By March 2, 2009, the State of Washington makes permanent a mandate requiring all dentists using any anesthetic agent to have an AED onsite and for all staff providing "direct patient care" to be currently certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) training from the American Heart Association.
