Primal Pictures online anatomy
Taubman Health Sciences Library has received a 30-day trial to Primal Pictures on Ovid. This multimedia approach to anatomical instruction features:
- 9 modules specialized by body regions
- a 24-module systemic edition featuring the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, nervous, and organ systems
- 5 surgery modules
- 10 sports & therapy modules
- specialty modules for head, hand, radiology, urology, dentistry, spine, and pelvis
Each module consists of multiple highly-detailed layers, allowing the user to peel away the overlying structures and reveal only the features of interest, while also rotating the image 360° in small increments. One can also export images, text, movies, and animations to use in lectures and presentations.
You can access Primal Pictures through the Ovid databases.
