Images from the History of Medicine

Images from the History of Medicine (IHM) has now been added to SearchTools. This free resource is a project from the History of Medicine Division of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and features nearly 70,000 digitized images reflecting the social and historic aspects of the health sciences. The images include portraits, photographs, caricatures, genre scenes, posters, and graphic art dated from the 15th to 21st century, many drawn from the illustrations in the Library of Congress's rare book and manuscript collection. The database is searchable by keyword or browsable by category, and more images are being added frequently.

Please be aware that these images are for private study, scholarship, and research. Some of them may be under copyright and it is the user's responsibility to comply with all copyright laws. Print copies can be ordered from the the IHM website.
