The passing of an era

I wasn't at UM when HealthWeb was founded, but I am here at the time of its dissolution. I'm comfortable with and agree with the HealthWeb Board's decision, but it nonetheless gives me pause to reflect about how much our professional lives have changed in so little time. We, and our partner libraries, continue to contribute to the teaching, research, patient care, and community outreach missions of our parent institutions, but the way in which we do that and the demands it makes upon our time are very different now than they were even five years ago. I'm looking forward to the challenges of the future and what we make of them, but just for a moment I want to acknowledge all the thought and effort that has gone into the efforts on which we build our next generation libraries.

Kudos to HealthWeb, and to its creators and maintainers.
