HSL Web Site: You tell us, part 2
Hi, everyone! Since folks seem to have a lot of ideas they want to share about how the new web site could look and function, please add those in this place. We are just beginning this process, so are open to hearing all kinds of ideas.

From Agnes:
"Just real quick and as an initial thought, why not have one HSL "homepage" that points to the current unique pages of the three branches. Then as time passes and the reorganization continues, updates can be made that merges duplicated information. This may help our users (and ourselves) not to be overwhelmed."

From anonymous:
"For the future HSL Web Site, RSS feeds of all health sciences new books (regardless of location) could be on the web page. This could be in addition to separate feeds for each library."

"I like and admire the Ann Arbor District Library site, which I find to be attractive, interesting, and easy to use."

I think that some of the information on the HSL site could be spewed out of a back-end server so that PHLI- and Dentistry-specific pages could be created without additional work. For example, if we have a staff directory with each person tagged as TML, PHLI, and DL then an HSL page could be generated with HSL graphics and a full staff list or a TML page could be generated with only TML staff and the TML look.
I'm not sure if we will want or need these separate pages and looks in the long term, but these are the types of pages that could be pushed out from a database:
- Staff directory, liaison directory, staff profiles
- Hours and locations
- Workshops
- Subject guides/resource lists
- FAQs
