What's in a blog?

Library 2.0: An Academic's Perspective: Blogs I'd Like to See More Of

Interesting post on the ways we could be using blogs to communicate among ourselves and with our users.

What do you think?

I very much like the description of the director and assistant director blogs and what they could include and what they could accomplish. When it comes to the public input blog, however, although I can certainly appreciate the possibility in theory, I am afraid that I am suffering a failure of the imagination as far as actual practice is concerned. In other words, as much as I would like to, I cannot make the leap and visualize our patrons blogging with us. Our patrons are too busy and too focused on their own specific needs that must be attended to immediately in their own fast-moving, competitive worlds.
