Lots of juicy tidbits here--so I sent excerpt and web site to the HSL Cultural Competency Exchange group. We made contact with Michelle and intend to collaborate with her group if she is agreeable. Thanks for posting!

I contacted Michelle Harris, coordinator of the sign interpreters' program, to ask her what an "interpreter's unit" signified (Helen wanted to know for our display at the Exchange), but she said that she did not use that term--it was the writer's creation.
