Fiber Feast

Saturday, April 21, is the day for the Ann Arbor Fiberarts Guild's Fiber Feast. see
the pretty postcard for details.

Sadly we don't have many men attend, but it is a fun "ladies day". Some of the artists who contribute do wonderful work.

Lunch get-together

We are planning a lunch time get together for January, probably to be held for two sessions. People who want to participate can attend one or both sessions.

This is just for fun but also has a charitable side to it. We are going to set up an assembly line to make fleece mittens for the Knit Wits project. You can read about the work they do at:
http://www.umich.edu/~knitwits/html/frames/faq/fafr.html

Pat Martin is taking names of interested participants. Stay tuned for dates.

Take a walk and see something beautiful

Quoting Patricia Anderson caption on the beautiful in question:

The University of Michigan Hospitals have this displayed on the 1st floor of the Taubman Center. This was a marvelous community project. Patients were given pieces of paper on which they wrote hopes, wishes, and prayers. These were individually folded and assembled into a large paper sculpture dragon. The dragon is mounted on the wall in a glass case. If you look closely at this image you will see reflections of the hospital hall. I don't recall the name of the artist.

Better yet, take a walk and see the real thing -- no offense to Patricia, but you really MUST see this for real!
